In early 2009, Nick and Bianca Heyming moved to Nick's hometown of Riverside to begin a life committed to sustainability and green living. Upon their arrival, they were excited to discover Riverside undergoing a green renaissance of its own! With Riverside's implementation of the Green Action Plan and its designation as the prototype Emerald City of California, Nick and Bianca were embarking on a journey in a city ripe with possibility.
The original idea behind Growcology was to simply provide a location for "green" instructors to teach the community practical ways of "living sustainably." That simple idea led Growcology to collaborates with individuals and organizations in the creation and implementation of green programs.
Growcology still provides low-cost workshops and events to community members. But more importantly, Growcology creates programs reaching far beyond the emerald walls of Riverside, Ca.
